On June 29, Governor Kemp issued a new set of Executive Orders related to COVID-19. Executive Order 6.29.20.01 extends the current Public Health State of Emergency through 11:59 PM on Tuesday, August 11, 2020.
Pursuant to Gov. Kemp's June 29 Order, which is effective through 11:59 PM on July 15, 2020, all Georgia licensed-dentists returning to full scope of practice are still required to adhere to the ADA's Interim Guidance for Minimizing Risk of COVID-19 Transmission and the ADA's Interim Mask Guidance as now set forth by the Georgia Department of Economic Development's Guidelines for Critical Infrastructure, which includes the Healthcare Business Guidelines that were referenced in previous Executive Orders.
With reports of confirmed COVID-19 cases still on the rise in Georgia, the GDA also recommends that Georgia licensed dentists review the guidance set forth in the American Dental Association’s Return to Work Interim Guidance Toolkit and continue to monitor the CDC’s Guidance for Dental Settings (updated 6/17/2020) for updates.
To assist dentists in communicating with their patients and scheduling appointments, the ADA has created a Patient Resource Center with a downloadable Toolkit.
For guidance related to possible exposure to COVID-19 for healthcare personnel, the Georgia Department of Public Health (“GA DPH”), CDC, and ADA have issued the following resources:
